For Karen and young professionals like her, small is beautiful. And life is at its most fun and convenient in the middle of Metro Manila, literally halfway between Quezon City and Makati.
At her “housewarming party,” Karen tours us around her studio at Axis Residences, located in the development just behind Robinsons Forum on Pioneer Street. Axis is a joint development of Robinsons Land Corp. (RLC) and GT Capital’s Federal Land Inc. (FLI), the second tower in its mixed-use residential development project.
From the top floors of the tower, you can see Makati, Quezon City, Mandaluyong — and even as far as Manila Bay.
The view is wonderful — and the location even more so. This is what attracts young people to Axis, a tower that’s designed for a compact, active and mobile lifestyle. There are more studio units at Axis than bigger ones because it caters to people starting their careers such as BPO employees (several large call center companies are located in the area) and yuppies. At 24.17 to 28.2 sqm., each studio is able to accommodate living and work spaces especially for those who want to work from home. One-bedroom units have an average size of 48.9 sqm. while two-bedroom units range from 51.82 to 76.52 sqm. in size.
The recent completion of Axis Residences Tower A officially kicks off the building’s turnover to satisfied homeowners.
Robinsons Communities AVP for business development Ted V. Bernas says, “The development of the Pioneer district is a short distance to and from offices, schools, hospitals, as well as government offices. Axis’ location gives easy access to the central business districts of Bonifacio Global City (BGC), Makati, and Ortigas. Its location is strategic! And that is because it is the product of a master plan that’s been thoroughly mulled over.”
Axis Residences residents have access to a slew of amenities that include a multipurpose covered court that can serve as basketball, volleyball and even a badminton court — something Ted says is not so common in developments.
It also has spacious function rooms, a fitness center, a pavilion, children’s playground, multi-purpose game room, and a swimming pool among others. Garden spaces offer nooks for meditation and simply quiet moments surrounded by the cityscape of neighboring CBDs. With Forum Robinsons Mall just a few steps away, you don’t need to go far for your everyday needs.
Roseann Coscolluela-Villegas, RLC director for corporate public relations, says, “Units will be delivered furnished and not bare and will be a showcase of what Axis is all about. Plus, it won’t be a cramped community because it is a master-planned development, right down to its ingress and egress points. All this with the convenience of supermarkets, cinema, dining options, and retail outlets within your reach. RLC and FLI made sure that they didn’t compromise on quality; especially on view and the abatement of noise pollution. Since it is a mixed-use facility, the hotel and commercial centers will be on the foreground while the residences will be at the background, away from the maddening crowd. Hobbyists can easily scour great finds at either HMR, Regalong Pambahay, and the antique shops within the area.”
Located at the highest point of Mandaluyong, there is no need to worry about flooding. The lobby is likewise elevated from the street level. Interior details are well thought out with natural light streaming in. Blues, browns, and tinges of orange meld into the interiors.
“Axis Residences is a showcase of how a master-planned property develops in an already established neighborhood. With Axis Tower 2 facing the side of the Pasig River, homeowners will have an unobstructed view of the city skyline,” says Ted. “As against other projects that only provide lifestyle amenities after occupancy, Axis amenities are always in place prior to turnover. Residents will have access to all facilities. Intelligent spatial planning and management provides for 22 units per floor as against 55 to 65 over the same floor area in other development projects. Floor-to-ceiling windows adorn each room. Studio units are never cramped as envisioned by a lot of people. Yuppies and working people will find Axis a very suitable home while investors and OFWs can make it their home in Manila, or when they prepare for the staying needs of their children who will be studying in the metro.”
Axis Residences Tower 2 will start construction next year with turnover date slated for the first quarter of 2020.
